TRAINING WORKSHOP (5 hrs.)

This training is offered for mental health professionals working with eating disorders seeking to incorporate mindfulness and embodiment into their current therapeutic program to be used both individually and in groups. What you will learn:

What embodiment is and its importance in working with ED

The foundations of mindfulness

Interventions of mindfulness-based embodiment, its application and use

The difference between embodiment and yoga

How to incorporate the work into current programming (DBT; CBT-E).

The development of a personal practice. It’s importance and impact

MINDFULNESS-BASED EMBODIMENT (MBE)™ THERAPIST CERTIFICATION TRAINING

(3 Day Weekend Training - 20 hrs.)

This comprehensive training is for ALL therapists looking to incorporate somatic awareness and embodiment into individual and group sessions. It includes full training of the specific interventions of Mindfulness-Based Embodiment, as well as the verbal dialogue of MBE and how to guide a client through a full, embodied, awareness practice. This training will also include the teaching of specific yoga therapeutic poses that are non-touch and may be incorporated into therapy to assist in deepening the embodied experience. What you will learn:

The experiential interventions of MBE and how to introduce them to a client

Attending to the “communication” of the body

Exploring the role of presence in the therapeutic relationship

The boundaries of an experiential embodied session such as, when to incorporate into a psychotherapy session, when to end

Verbally guiding a client through a full embodied experience for awareness and insight

How to process the experience

Closure of a session

Learning basic yoga therapeutic postures for anxiety, depression, and embodiment experience; benefits of each pose; physiology and metaphysical benefits

When to incorporate therapeutic postures

This training requires the purchase of the following minimal equipment:

  • A large round yoga bolster
  • 3 yoga blocks

With completion of this training, graduates will receive a certificate of training in MBE and a mentorship follow-up session by phone/skype. Additional mentorship sessions arranged at a discounted price.

RESTORATIVE YOGA TEACHER TRAINING LEVEL 1

This training is open to yoga instructors and students who have had a dedicated practice for at least two years. It is limited to 16 participants. In this 40 hour training you will learn the art and skill of teaching restorative yoga. All aspects of the subject will be covered, including: the cycle of stress, the physiology and art of relaxation; the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of restorative yoga; Basic postures along with therapeutic adjustments; how to sequence restoratives into an active practice.

Participants will learn:

The Art of “seeing” A setup by developing your eye and intuition

Proper setups and adjustments for different bodies

Working with special populations ( pregnancy, physical limitations)

Sequencing the class/Workshop

Working 1:1

Sequencing restoratives into an active vinyasa class

RESTORATIVE YOGA TEACHER TRAINING LEVEL 2

(25 hrs.)

Restorative training with an emphasis on mind/body therapeutics. For those who have completed the level one training. It is designed to:

Further develop your eye, voice, touch & intention in working both individually & in a class setting

Further develop your understanding of the subtle energy body in restorative poses

Develop dynamic use of props to address individual needs/special populations

Learn to effectively work 1:1 with students developing individualized sequences based on need. (Students will complete an at home project which consists of working with a client 1:1)

Explore working with mind/body integration. Learn creative restorative asanas for the nervous system, mind & energy body

Learn therapeutic sequences to address stress reduction, depression & anxiety
